Climate
The Chaparral biome is when an ocean or a large body of water, meet with land that is at a high temperature. The average temperature for
the Chaparral in the winter is about 30 degrees F. The average temperature for the Chparral in the summer is about 100 degrees F. In this
region the winters are very wet. However the summers in this region are very dry and hot. The annual amount of rainfall is about 15 inches
of rain a year. Much of this wetness comes from the winter season. The many animals that live in this biome must adapt to the dry summer
and wet winter. All animals eventually adapt to their environment if they live there permanately.

Adaptation
1) Due to the hot weather in the Chaparral animals have to adapt. Animals with long ears such as rabbits use the blood circulation in their ears to cool themselves off.
2) Some animals' bodies learned to urinte less to save water inside their bodies
3) Some plants adapt so that when dry plants begin a fire, after the fire is gone it makes the plant appear ashy and pretty if it was just slightly burnt
4) Many other plants also have thin needle-like things to help conserve water instead of instantly soaking it all up.
