Adaptation #1- Mosses are able to survive because of its low height and size. It stays low to the ground in order to conserve energy and to protect itself from arctic winds.
Adaptation #2- Heath roots grow sideways underground in order to avoid permafrost (frozen layer of earth underneath topsoil)
Adaptation #3- Stems of short plants have hairy stems and small leaves to trap and conserve heat
Animals-
Mostly small animals and insects
Polar Bears, Arctic Fox, Ox, Wolves, and Caribou
Adaptation #1- All these animals have dense furs and/or fat to protect themselves from cold
Adaptation #2- Polar Bears have large feet that help with walking on snow.
Adaptation #3- The arctic fox has a coat that changes colors with the seasons.
