Tropical Rain Forests

Climate
The temperature in this region stays withing an average of 80 degrees, along with keeping a very high humidity rate. It isn't unusual for it to rain almost every day for this area, so the vegetation rate is exceptionally high. The average rainfall per year can be anywhere from 100-400 inches!
Because the biome has a plethora of natural resources, this allows the people that inhabit or surround the biome to often have a booming economy.
Animal Adaptions:

Animal Adaptions:
- Birds, such as parrots and toucans, adapted their beaks to take a larger, stronger form so that they could eat hard seeds and nuts.
- Stick insects adapted to camouflage into their surroundings. They resemble sticks so that they wouldn't easily be found eaten.
- Three-toed sloths have green algae that grows on their fur to blend into their surroundings.
- Different reptiles, like salamanders and small lizards, adapted their skin to show bright, neon colors to warn predators that they were deadly. Some didn't even have venom in their skin - it was just a trick to scare predators away!
- Primates have extremely long arms that help them to easily swing from branch to branch.
Assessment Questions
How do Tropical Rain Forest differ from Deciduous Forests?
What other kind of camouflage adaptions do you think insects in this biome have?
Why would a primate need long arms to survive and thrive in this kind of ecosystem?
Would a polar bear be able to live in this biome? Why or why not? If not, what kind of adaptions would the polar bear need to accomplish?
